In June 1998, a virus called Win95.CIH of Taiwanese origin was discovered, which was built on such a logical basis, which had the ability to delete all information from the hard disk and BIOS startup systems .The launch date of the project coincided with the day of the Chernobyl accident, which gave the virus a second name, Chernobyl. It was this virus that revealed the vulnerability of the BIOS recording System. Thus, it turned out that a dangerous virus program can damage not only information but also computer’s "piece of iron".
